MALAYSIAN SKILLS CERTIFICATION

Based on the existing National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS), Malaysian Skills Certification can be obtained through the following methods:

  1. Through training at accredited centres

Accredited centres refer to the skills training providers that are approved by the Department of Skills Development (DSD) to conduct skills training and to offer the Malaysian Skills Certification in certain skills levels and fields based on the NOSS.

  1. Through industry-oriented training

Through apprenticeship under the National Dual Training System (NDTS) conducted in industries and skills training institutes.

  1. Through accreditation of prior achievement

A candidate qualifies for Malaysian Skills Certificate (MSC) based on past experience (work or training) without having to sit for any examination. However, the candidate is required to submit proof of skills competency acquired in order to be assessed by the Assessing Officer and approved by the External Verification Officer appointed by the DSD.
