It has been brought to the attention of the Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Division of the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia that there are unscrupulous parties making claims that educational programmes / courses in T&CM offered by these parties are recognised / will be recognised by the MOH for registration purposes once the T&CM Act 2016 is enforced.

The T&CM Division would like to inform members of the public and all interested parties that the MOH does not endorse, support or award any qualification in T&CM. Any party desirous of offering education programmes in T&CM under the higher education sector should refer to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education whilst those who seek to offer T&CM education programmes under the skills sector should liaise with the Department of Skills Development of the Ministry of Human Resources.

Finally, recognised qualifications in recognised practice areas will only be determined by the T&CM Council which will be set up once the T&CM Act 2016 come into operation. The T&CM Division would like to urge members of the public to be aware of, mindful of and not be misled by spurious and false claims from irresponsible and fraudulent parties.
